French daily newspaper L’Equipe claims that Everton have agreed a deal to sign England centre-back Michael Keane from Burnley.
The Toffees reportedly had a £25 million accepted by the Clarets, who secured a very good deal considering that the player’s contract was due to expire in June 2018.
His former club Manchester United are set for a nice windfall as well seeing that they are entitled to 25% of the transfer fee.
Even though his former employers and Liverpool were keen on Keane, the 24-year-old will be joining Everton, where he arrives as a long-term successor to captain Phil Jagielka.
The talented defender had come through the youth ranks at Old Trafford, but only made one Premier League appearance for Man Utd before moving to Burnley in January 2015.
He has since developed into one of countries hottest prospects and will now continue his career at Goodison Park.
